Cool marine air and fog funnel inland through gaps in the coastal range,\u003cbr\u003emoderating daytime heat and extending the ripening season. Soils are well-drained,\u003cbr\u003epushing vines to root deeply, which helps concentrate flavor and tannin. Compared with\u003cbr\u003eBordeaux, Baja’s overall growing season is warmer and drier, with much less summer\u003cbr\u003erainfall, so water stress and sun exposure must be carefully managed.
